Hello Everyone! Nico needs some big help with his right eye. All proceeds are going to fix entropion involving the entire lower right eyelid and upper medial eyelid.

Hello everyone! This is Nico the bunny. He came to us at Pets of Destiny when we were at an animal expo. Someone who was selling rabbits came up to us and told us his right eye had been poked by straw, they were using Vetericyn flush to wash his eye out, but if they couldn’t adopt him out, the breeder would euthanize him. We said we would take him, no problem. Upon taking him to Watertown Vet, they let me know this is a genetic condition, and that he would need to see an eye specialist. On Monday, at the eye specialist, they let me know his right eye is going to need surgery. The top lid of his right eye is too big, so they need to excise a portion of it. His bottom lid is completely folding inward, causing pain and corneal ulceration. They fit him with a contact so the eyelids won’t irritate his eye as much. We just got off the phone with his primary clinic, and they let me know they can perform the surgery when Nico goes in to be neutered on May 30th, 2023.
With all of that being said, we are running in to financial issues because of it. We really want this surgery to be able to be performed, as it is causing a lot of pain in Nico’s right eye. Attached is the estimate for Watertown Veterinary Clinic in Watertown, MN. His doctor is Dr. Katrina - she’s absolutely amazing with our rabbits. Every penny helps. Nico is such an amazing rabbit with the best personality and we hope to be able to raise enough money so he can live a normal, amazing life.
